MARKETING STRATEGIST

Knight Eady, a Birmingham, Alabama-based sports marketing and event management company, is seeking applicants for a Marketing Strategist to join the Knight Eady staff. This role will be based onsite in our Birmingham office.

The Marketing Strategist will play a key role in supporting both client accounts and the agency’s owned events, with a strong emphasis on integrated marketing strategy across branding, campaigns, social, event strategy and ticket marketing. This position is designed for a versatile marketer who can balance research, planning, and execution support. Working under the VP of Agency Services, this strategist will contribute to brand and campaign development, social and digital strategy, audience growth, and go-to-market plans that drive measurable results for clients while also maximizing attendance and engagement at owned events

HOW YOU’LL MAKE IMPACT

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support marketing and strategy efforts for agency clients, including research, campaign planning, and day-to-day execution support.
  • Contribute to strategy development for the agency’s owned events, with a focus on audience growth, ticket sales, and fan engagement.
  • Assist in building ticket marketing campaigns, including messaging, channel strategy, and promotional timelines.
  • Track and analyze ticket sales and marketing campaign performance, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage and execute digital advertising campaigns across paid social, search, display, and programmatic platforms.
  • Monitor ad performance, optimize campaigns in real time, and report on ROI for both client and owned-event marketing.

  • Stay on the edge of social media trends, emerging platforms, and audience growth strategies, applying insights to strengthen client and event campaigns.
  • Support brand discovery and positioning efforts for branding projects, contributing research, competitive analysis, and audience insights to guide creative development.
  • Conduct audience and market research to inform both client and event strategies.
  • Prepare briefs, presentations, and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with creative, accounts, and production teams to ensure strategies are brought to life consistently and effectively.
  • Stay current on trends in sports, entertainment, and live events marketing, applying insights to strategies.
WHAT YOU HAVE
  • 1-4 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, or related fields (agency or live events experience strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of event marketing and ticket sales strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for sports, entertainment, and live experiences.

  • Ability to assist in managing on-site event operations, ensuring marketing activations, signage, and fan engagement initiatives are executed seamlessly.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and/or marketing automation tools to streamline campaigns.
  • Comfort presenting strategies and campaign performance to clients, internal teams, and leadership.
  • A strong creative eye with the ability to collaborate closely with design, video, and production teams to elevate campaign execution.
  • Passion for building relationships and representing the agency in client, partner, and community settings.
